ZitZot: Nokia BH-905, massive bluetooth headphones

I am not a big fan of Bluetooth headsets. I think they have their place, like when you are trying to drive in a manual transmission car. However, if you use one while say walking in the mall you should be kicked in the balls (or punched in the ovaries if more appropriate).

If you are into music on your phone, most go for ear buds because they are compact and don’t look as strange on your head as say your massive headphones from 1984. Nokia has announced a new Bluetooth headset called the BH-905 that is quite large. The massive size looks like something you would see with a home stereo rather than a mobile phone or MP3 player.

Massive headphones can have way better sound than those stupid earplugs. Besides that, they irritate less and are less likely (ofcourse mostly depending on the sound level, but still) to cause ear-damage than in-earplugs.

And when driving a car just use a cheap Parrot (or built-in BT) which won't break as soon as those crap BT earpieces.

i agree, walking around in a mall with bluetooth deserves a ballsack kicking.

but for 285 euros i'd rather get a better brand. nokia is not really known for its excellent audio reproduction, not in their phones nor headphones they make.

"However, if you use one while say walking in the mall you should be kicked in the balls "

why? i mean i dont like people making long phonecalls in public and chatting in a way, that everyone can hear it and follow it. but if you are gonna make a phonecall anyway, why is it better to hold the phone to your ear instead of having your hands free? i have a bluetooth stereo headset, that i use mainly for listening music over my nokia phone, looks just like normal headphones, and they are great for that price. (nokia bh-103)

oh and about ear-damage: learn to use the volume control kiddies…

Now what they need to do is make these things with built in surround sound and have them connect directly to your playstation 3 or 360. Full, wireless, surround sound from the comfort of my couch without the neighbors getting pissed. Somebody pay me for that idea.

"kicked in the balls (or punched in the ovaries… )"

But never try the direct opposite (kicking in the c*nt).

Believe me bros I tried that once when I was a toddler with 1 of my best friend and she had taken it sportingly; Since they don’t have balls, it's not that much a big deal for the chicks.
P.S. Yes I had to face the obvious retaliation! :( We still laugh about it at times. I tell her I need some massage as it still hurts. ;)

If you want stereo bluetooth and a small form factor, try the Jaybird JB-200.

And battery life? I'd rather use a wired headset than have to plug my headphones to wall every other hour.

"…when you are TRYING to drive in a manual transmission car".

Normal people just call that a car. Not a manual trans… yadda, yadda.
And how about the word "trying"?
And if somebody should be kicked in the balls, it should be the moron who tries to drive a car, while wearing headphones.

And earbuds ruin your hearing, cause their frequency is not balanced, like a good headphone.
While trying to get some bass out of earbuds, by turning up the volume, you torture your ears with high frequencies.

I walk around with bluetooth headphones – earbuds connected to the bluetooth device connected to my Nokia. Why? Because there are only wires from the device hanging round my neck to my ears, and no wire hanging down my body to the phone ready to get caught up on something. Then at home when the neighbours are in bed I can leave the phone on my desk & walk around without a long wire hanging down.

Kicked in the balls for that?

There are 50 million worse things in life like people talking on their phone via bluetooth looking like they are talking to themselves, in a loud voice…

I think I'd stick with my ATH-M50 tbh, since I can use a headphone amp for it (which I'm assuming you can't for bluetooth :P ).

But that's my only real issue~ It would be nice with wireless phones otherwise though.

i take it Martin knows nothing about music, the sound quality between air buds and headphones like this is a world apart,

for instance everyone knows the bigger the speaker, the better the bass is reproduced (im not going into the old 'my 10inch technics sound loads better than a 20inch Alba set') but generally you get much more frequencies reproduced from larger speakers, also lets not go into 2/3way speakers etc,

so anyway people who use large headphones tend to know the difference in sound 'quality'
added bonus that they tend not to 'leak' that annoying 'tch tch tch tch…' everybody else has to listen to on the bus, from someone with tiny buds on

incidently, why do chav's have to play music through there phone speaker?? i cant imagine a worst way to listen to music, like listening to Atlantic 252 them old crappy mono transistor radio's they had in the 70's/80's

wheres your BOOM BOXES you sad gits???!!??

I tend to agree with BIGT1T1E5,but, in this case I think a better quality speaker will only allow you to hear the inferiority of Mp3 on wireless transmission.

The f*cking irony here is that if you were so concerned about sound quality you would use a media player that can handle 96khz/24bit along with a wired pair of Sennheiser headphones. OR, you'd stay at home in your listening room. IMHO, earbuds work great for "on the go" listening. As for phone calls, just use a regular cell for f*cks sake!

Ultimately, these Nokia headphones are for boners who don't know jack sh!t & will spend money on stupid crap!

I wear big, giant Motorola DJ cans attached via Bluetooth to my fantastic Treo 700wx.

My audio, via registry changes, is 48k.

I don't give a crap what people at the mall or Walmart or anywhere else think of me, because they can't hear the incredible sweet sounds pumping into my head. And I never miss a call.

If you want to be a slave to fashion, and do what everyone else wants you to, by all means, be a poseur, and be a Martin.

I'd rather enjoy my music in quality stereo sound, and people like Martin are exactly the reason why I like to tune them OUT.

<i>"My audio, via registry changes, is 48k."</i>

The kilohertz don't mean jack squat when your streaming Mp3 wireless. Especially, if you're one of these fools who thinks 192Kbps is CD quality. By all means, wear bigger headphones, but, stop talking about "quality stereo sound" when it's obvious that you don't have a clue!

Until you can zero out all interference, it will be decades before wireless audio touches the capability & quality of traditional equipment.

I HAVE kicked someone in the balls for wearing those stupid ear pieces. In fact, it was my boss…

…I was going to quit anyways, so why not go out with a swift kick!

(He always barked orders around from his chair, and sometimes, he would be yelling at the person on his cell phone, but we wouldn't know he was doing it. So when we tried to answer him, he would call us stupid. Yeah, so a kick to the balls and a smashed Bluetooth earpiece later…)

    I need a job. Any takers? :)
