GFX Competition soon over!
One week and hundreds of entries later, we’re nearing the end of the Forum graphics competition. If you haven’t noticed it, you still have time to participate. Click HERE to read the original article. There have been a lot of interesting entries so far. You’ll probably have seen a few of them which were posted in the comments, but I thought I’d post a few here to perhaps inspire more people to send in a couple of last minute entries. I’m not saying these are the best (they might be, the might not be). The images have been resized to fit the site.
The competition will end 15:00 CET (Central European Time) Friday the 23rd.
Get your entries in folks. On another note, popular TV shows The Office and Lost aren’t airing tonight, which makes for a relatively quiet TV night. Lost is taking a one week break and will be back next week and The Office season has sadly ended.

The second one looks great. I think it would be blazing to put a hidden image in there just slightly lighter than the black, like an “RL” or something. Just very nicely done IMO.

The last one is the best.
The second one looks as though it tries to be stylish but ends up looking like some cheap futuristic design made with cheap sci-fi font.

WTF is so great about the second one? I did that corny sh1t back in 2000 when i was a teenager, every single detail: Blue and black, glow effect, elongated strokes on a few of the letters, and that horizontal motion/wind/whatever-the-f effect.
Anyway, my point is everyone who had a copy of photoshop was doing crap like that back then. So turn of the millennium.

I agree w/ 22. Its very old. Glow lettering is something I fooled around with while studying html script. The teacher took off marks cause it’s simply too cheesy. Although I agree its clean and crisp looking…
The last one is very original and stands out, clearly a lot of thought and time went into it.
The first one is great as well, but it looks too might like the current one for me.

in terms of complexity, #1 and #4 have my vote i don’t see how #2 would blend well and #1 is way to easy to make it looks childish. overall i would choose #4 for catching my eye.

Last/4th one is the best, cus its simple but very very iconic – it kinda gives a personality to the forum. That simplicty and bright colour is what I would go for
Second one is awesome! Very clean and professional.
I’m voting for either 1 or 2,
3 is incredibly awful and 4 doesn’t fit the colour scheme everybody was told to use.
You may say “I could do that when i was 5″ that’s not the point, everybody was given guidelines and they did what they felt was suited to the theme.
If your jealous because your picture didn’t get picked well… get over it.
